About us

In ORLEN Południe we consistently advance new technologies, placing strong emphasis on the development of our proprietary know‑how and on design practices that account for environmental impact across the entire value chain, supported by a range of optimization initiatives. We use raw material resources responsibly, as they form the foundation for the Company’s growth toward a biorefinery model.

We are a company within the ORLEN Capital Group. Our production facilities are located in Trzebinia in the Małopolska region and in Jedlicze in the Podkarpacie region.

We focus our business activities on key product segments, including the production of biofuels and biocomponents, propylene glycols and glycerines, the production and sale of paraffins and paraffin specialties, solvents, as well as base oils obtained through the regeneration of waste mineral oils.

We implement a future‑oriented economic model in which resources circulate in a closed loop. Their added value is maximized, while waste generation is minimized.

We are executing key projects related to the conversion of renewable feedstocks into high‑quality fine chemicals used across various industrial sectors.

In 2021, we commissioned the first installation in Poland—and the largest in Europe—for the production of green propylene glycol. The “ECO”‑designed facility significantly reduces overall greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions per unit of propylene glycol produced compared to conventional technologies, achieving a reduction of 60–80%. This feature is particularly important for most of our customers, which include large enterprises committed to enhancing their pro‑environmental image and implementing sustainability policies in their operations.

In line with the ORLEN Group strategy to achieve climate neutrality, we are also developing a new generation of future fuels—high‑purity hydrogen 5.0 for buses, passenger vehicles, and other types of transport.

At the ORLEN Południe refinery in Trzebinia, an innovative installation is also under development for the production of lactic acid using microorganisms. We are additionally implementing an ambitious program to introduce the production of advanced biofuels, including second‑generation bioethanol. The production facility for this bioethanol is currently being constructed at our plant in Jedlicze.
